Meet Bob, our drummer and business manager

My first drum set arrived under the Christmas tree when I was 11 years old. It was purchased from a pawnshop in the hills of Eastern Kentucky and I can still remember how excited I felt when I saw it even though it was a little banged up from many years of previous use - to me, it was made of solid gold. I started playing with my church pianist grandmother and her “bluegrass gospel“ quartet and progressed from Rock of Ages to Rock Around the Clock with  garage bands. After moving to Central Pennsylvania in the early 60’s, I began playing professionally with numerous groups in teen clubs and pool hops but also enjoyed playing musical productions with the pit band of Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs, Pa. In the 70’s, I  joined Nightlife, a very popular local  country/rock band, and we played almost every weekend at  local clubs, colleges, World Championships Rodeos, and even as the stage band for more well known entertainers. After the birth of our second daughter I put my drums in a closet for almost forty years. As any musician will confess, you never really lose the burning desire to make music with others. That spark was reignited after connecting with this great group of guys to form Retrospective.
